THE NETHERLANDS – Due to increased business activities, HST Groep (Enschede, the Netherlands) has expanded its fleet with 25 new DAF XF 440 Silent Trucks. The trucks have Adaptive Cruise Control and Silent Modus which allows them to keep the noise level below 72 decibels. This makes it possible to load and unload in, for example, urban areas where noise restrictions apply in the early morning and evening. In addition to this, due to the two driving modes and air suspension, also mega trailers can be connected to the truck, which increases the transport volume.
Sustainability
HST Groep attaches great value to sustainability and CSR. The expansion of the fleet with this type of trucks also fits well in the Lean & Green Policy of HST. The new trucks have a better fuel economy and are more fuel efficient thanks to the Eco Mode and theAdaptive Cruise Control. The Adaptive Cruise Control can use the on-board GPS system to anticipate on upcoming changes in the slope of the road. In addition, the set cruise control speed can be overruled by the Adaptive Cruise Control and the gearbox shift strategy can be adjusted. Moreover, this tool can cause EcoRoll actions are initiated on order to save fuel. The Driver Performance Assistant helps the driver to drive ass efficiently and as cleanly as possible and informs him about his driving. Thanks to the Silent Modus, the DAF can also come in place with (temporarily) noise restrictions.
Safety first
The new trucks are not only durable, but also more safe than their predecessors. The braking power of the MX Engine Brake is higher than in previous models and can be optimally adapted to the driving conditions. The Lane Departure Warning System helps the driver to avoid unintentional lane changing and is an effective tool for driving with poor visibility. With the Electronic Vehicle Stability Control System, the active driving safety is improved. Because of the two driving modes and air suspension, both regular trailers and mega trailers can be connected to the trucks.
