May 2020, as a part of the 150th anniversary of Hamburg Süd, a 40-foot container started its sailing from Hamburg Germany.
Artist Jeannine Platz spent 4 days drawing “Port of Hamburg” on one exterior wall of the container, and painted on the second wall: “You dip your finger into the sea and you are in touch with the whole world.”
On the 21st of March, Uniforce Australia Sydney office received this painted container from Tacoma, USA. Before that, it has been to half of the earth and carried all different kinds of goods.
Darren Hart, director of Uniforce Australia, says, ” We have served this client for more than 15 years and handled around 200 containers per annum during this period. In the last 10 years, we always chosen the service of Hamburg Sud which gave us a strong relationship in both Sydney and Seattle. One of their bookings was selected to load into this painted container. With great pleasure, we have this beautiful container released by customs yesterday.”
After this trip, this container will probably head to Asia, and then, get back to its hometown Hamburg. It will be exhibited in the city along with details about its journey across the world.
